Back to school challenges

So today was the first day of school for me.... as I am starting my junior year God is just refining me. Its hard. On top of that I'm reading a really good but challenging book called, All In by Mark Batterson pastor of national community church. There's a prayer in this book that was the prayer of the early Methodists.

"I am no longer my own, but thine. Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt; put me to doing, put me to suffering; let me be employed for thee or laid aside for thee, exalted for thee or brought low for thee; let me be full, let me be empty; let me have all things, let me have nothing; I freely and heartily yield all things to thy pleasure and disposal. And now, O glorious and blessed God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, thou art mine, and I am thine. So be it. And the covenant, which I have made on earth, let it be ratified in heaven. Amen."
Are we willing to let God place us in our schools, jobs, etc.. so that we can live out his will? Are we willing to give ourselves to God so that we are no longer our own but his. So that when we walk, talk, and live. It will always be for him? No matter how much we sin and fall short are we willing to get back up and do Gods will? That is the question that God has been burdening my heart with. And friends its not fun but just remember that there are those who will never know until judgement day. That sacrifices will be made but didn't he ultimately sacrifice his life for us? So can't we sacrifice that friendship or opportunity? Are we willing to make this our prayer?

  1. Mmmm. Good stuff girl. Can't wait to keep reading these as you post. :)

Hey, have you thought about doing the devotional blogs for The Feather. Just a thought, but I think you should talk to Stobbe. You would really enjoy it and I think it would be a good fit. Something to chew on...

Love you lots my dear. :)
