DIY Chalkbaords and Fruit Pizza

Hello Friends!
This week has been filled with summer camps, seeing friends from afar, and DIY projects! Here are some ideas you can do at a party or just by yourself staying cool on a summer afternoon.
The first thing is How to make a chalk board. You can use different materials to make chalkboards one thing I used was this old metal poster. You can also use old dishes, picture frames, gift bags, trays, mason jars etc..
You can either use chalkboard paint or spray paint. I have used both and prefere paint. (Thats what I used for this tutorial.)   Lay it out and start painting. You want to paint three layers on but let each layer dry before painting again.
This is what is should look like after painted and dryed.
Me and my mom also did some old dishes we had. You do the same exact steps as the poster. The paint should also dry fast.

These dishes go perfect for the kitchen or even for a food table at a party. After working hard at your chalkboard or your just waiting for it to dry this recipe for fruit pizza is one of the best.
This recipe is from Sallys baking addiction.
These are the ingridents you will need except you will also need vanilla.

1/2 cup  unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
3/4 cup  granulated sugar
1 large egg, at room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  1. 1 and 1/2 cups  all-purpose flour
  2. 1/4 teaspoon salt
  3. 1 teaspoon baking powder
  4. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  5. 1 and 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch.
  6. Mix the butter until fluffy and then add sugar. After mixing for a little while add the egg and Vanilla. In a seperate bowl mix all the dry ingrediants. Then slowly add them into wet ingrediants. Now this recipe doesn't make alot of dough so I doubled the recipe. Chill for 30 minutes and spread out on pan. Oven should be 35o degrees and should cook for 20 minutes or until light brown around the edges.

  1. To make cream cheese spread you will need

      1. 8 oz  full-fat cream cheese, softened to room temperature
      2. 1/4 cup  unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
      3. 2 cups confectioners' sugar
      4. 1-2 Tablespoons  cream or milk
      5. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
Beat cream cheese and butter for about 2 minutes. Add 1tbsp of cream and mix. Then add the other 1 tbsp of cream with sugar and vanilla. Let pizza crust completely cool down before spreading fruit and frosting.

Enjoy! This makes for a great 4th of July treat!
